Last week, the Ukraine Tech Conference took place in Kyiv. The event focused on discussing key trends and challenges in the IT industry. It became a platform for exchanging ideas and best practices aimed at preserving and growing Ukraine's technological potential. The conference brought together representatives of IT companies, Diia.City residents, startups, ministry officials, and international companies.
During the event, speakers shared their thoughts on how education and technology are interconnected and how they shape the future. They also discussed the role of the government in technological processes as a critical element linking different sectors of life.
Evgeniya Gres, CFO, and Oleksandra Siranchuk, Head of Outsourcing, represented Accounting HUB at the conference.
Evgeniyacommented: "It was interesting to hear about the financial aspects of innovation development in business. Understanding the importance of proper tax support for IT companies is crucial, as it allows businesses to develop steadily even in tough times."
Oleksandra added: "The conference provided a snapshot of the IT industry's role in the country's economy, showcasing the Ukrainian tech industry and the government's digital strategy. It's important that during the panel discussions, experts also addressed pressing issues such as investment attractiveness, specialist conscription, and tax increases."
Overall, conclusions can be drawn that the IT industry continues to grow despite the undeniably challenging conditions in Ukraine and the global challenges society faces. Adapting to current conditions and continuing development is only possible by building a strategy that takes into account present trends. This also applies to consulting services, including accounting processes, which are evolving in parallel with trending business directions. The ability to adapt to rapid and sometimes turbulent trends, process ever-growing volumes of information (both in quantity and scope), and embrace new technologies has become a challenge for specialists. The opportunity for a pause no longer exists, and everyone involved in accounting is keenly aware of this continuous process. However, we must improve, enhance the technological aspect of accounting processes, and undoubtedly, transform.
The IT sector demands change and a unique approach. It is a "non-classical" business, where accounting is often viewed as an expense. To work effectively in the IT field, you need to become a part of it, accept the rules, and stay in trend. This requires a new perspective: business processes and accounting should not run in parallel but instead form a unified whole, complementing each other while recognizing shared risks.
Perhaps now is the time to step away from parallelism, avoid falling behind global trends, stop positioning yourself as a "classical accountant," realize the need for constant change, and accept your role as a "full-fledged player." It's time to choose the path of convergence.
