How to assess employees' loyalty to the employer?

In one of our articles, we talked about employer branding. Having received positive feedback on that publication, we decided to dive deeper into this topic and provide more details on one of the simple methods for assessing employees' loyalty to the employer. It's about using the eNPS (Employee Net Promoter Score) metric. Employees are asked one question: "On a scale of 0 to 10, how likely are you to recommend our company as a great workplace?" After analyzing the employees' responses, they are grouped into three categories:

Promoters - rated 9-10

Passives - rated 7-8

Detractors - rated 0-6

To calculate the eNPS, the percentage of promoters is subtracted from the percentage of detractors. The result will be in the range of -100 to 100. Any positive score is considered good. If the score is below zero, it indicates the need to increase employee loyalty.

However, in addition to the quantitative data of eNPS, it is also recommended to analyze qualitative aspects. For example, studying the reasons for employee quits (exit interviews) can reveal factors that lead to talent loss and help identify areas for improvement. Conducting regular engagement surveys will provide a complete picture of the loyalty level. This feedback relates to satisfaction, the advantages of working in the company, and relationships with colleagues and management.
